Euro Sharply Rises A Against Major Rivals

The European common currency staged a sharp gain against major currencies at about 3:10 am ET Friday.

As of now, the euro is trading near 3-day highs of 0.8088 against the British pound, 101.85 versus the Japanese yen, 1.2975 against the US dollar and 1.2634 versus the Australian dollar from yesterday's close of 0.8059, 101.29, 1.2928 and 1.2598, respectively.

Against its Canadian counterpart, the euro also spiked up further in early session and presently trading near a 4-day high of 1.2697, which may be compared to Thursday's closing value of 1.2653.

The Eurozone industrial production report for August is due to release in the upcoming hours.
