Italy September Inflation Confirmed At 3.4%
Italy's EU harmonized inflation increased in September, and matched initial estimates, final data released by statistical office Istat showed Friday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased 3.4 percent on an annual basis in September, in line with the preliminary estimates. In August, the rate of growth was 3.3 percent.
Sequentially, the HICP increased by an unrevised 2.1 percent in September, after holding flat in the previous month.
At the same time, inflation as per the consumer price index remained stable at 3.2 percent in September, as estimated earlier. Compared to August, consumer prices remained unchanged.
Core inflation, that excludes price changes in energy and unprocessed food, fell to 1.9 percent from 2.1 percent in August, in line with the flash estimates, data showed.
