Austria Inflation Accelerates In September
Austria's harmonized inflation rose to 2.8 percent annually in September from 2.3 percent in August, Statistics Austria reported Tuesday.
Likewise, inflation based on the consumer price index, accelerated to 2.7 percent from 2.2 percent in August. Month-on-month, consumer prices gained 0.9 percent.
The major components behind the annual increase were housing, water and energy and fuel costs.
Housing, water and energy prices climbed 3 percent and fuel charges advanced 9.3 percent in September. Food prices grew 3.3 percent and clothing and footwear prices moved up 3.5 percent.
