Yen Extends Weakness Against Majors
Extending Asian session's slide, the Japanese yen slipped against other major currencies in early European deals on Friday.
Meanwhile, Japan's Finance Minister Jun Azumi today repeated his warning that the government may undertake decisive action to contain excessive gains in yen
The government would not rule out any measures to stem excessive forex moves and act decisively when necessary, Azumi said.
The yen hit a multi-week low of 82.54 against the aussie, 3-day low of 77.99 against the greenback, 4-month lows of 80.74 against the loonie and 65.04 against the kiwi.
Against the pound, euro and the franc, the yen fell to near a 4-month low of 126.35, near 3-month low of 101.61 and more than a 2-month low of 83.69, respectively.
