| Weekly Outlook for Eur -The ECB did make it clear that the ball is now in the politicians' court. There is a series of political events in the euro area this week, with Dutch elections and the German constitutional court ruling on the ESM (Wednesday) and Eurogroup/EcoFin meeting (Thursday/Friday). -It is also worth seeing whether Spain will apply for a precautionary programme from the Eurogroup, which is a prerequisite for the ECB's OMT; our economists expect it to happen by the next EU summit (18-19 October). Inaction by politicians may potentially weigh on EUR. We also need to be aware of the headline risk, which is likely to add to the short-term volatility of EUR.   | |
