Dutch Inflation Stable In August
Consumer price inflation in the Netherlands remained unchanged in August, but missed economists' forecast, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.
Annul inflation remained unchanged at 2.3 percent in August, slightly lower than the 2.4 percent economists had forecast. In June, the inflation rate was 2.1 percent.
Month-on-month, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent during the month, while economists were looking for a 0.3 percent monthly gain.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), measured under the EU methodology, increased 2.5 percent annually in August, slower than the 2.6 percent growth seen in July. Economists expected the HICP to rise 2.7 percent.
Month-on-month, the HICP moved up 0.1 percent during the month, the agency said.
