UK Consumer Confidence Edges Higher In September - GfK
Consumer confidence in the United Kingdom improved, but only slightly in September, according to survey results released Friday by the GfK NOP research firm.
The firm's consumer confidence index rose to minus-28 from the August reading of minus-29.
The index was at minus-29 since May, and the September reading was the highest since June 2011.
Even a one point increase in the index will offer some grounds for optimism for the government after such a stagnant summer, said GfK Social Research Managing Director Nick Moon.
The survey was conducted between August 31 and September 9.
