Spain Retail Sales Continue To Fall
Spain retail sales declined 4.3 percent in June from the prior year, the same rate of decline as seen in the prior month, the statistical office INE said Tuesday.
Food sales slipped 0.7 percent and non-retail turnover were down 6.8 percent in June.
At the same time, seasonally adjusted retail sales fell at a faster rate of 5.2 percent after easing 4.9 percent a month ago. However, the rate of decrease was smaller than the 7.7 percent drop forecast by economists.
According to INE, employment in the retail sector dipped 1.2 percent annually.
