| Canadian house prices fell 0.2% in Oct For a 3.4% yr annual pace of gain, according to Teranet/National Bank. That matches the previous low point for house price inflation of 3.4% yr in January 2011, after a brief acceleration to 7.1% yr in November last year. Bank of England minutes to the Nov MPC meeting showed just one of the nine on the committee favouring a further £25bn extension to the £375bn asset purchase program which was suspended this month. Meanwhile the budget deficit widened from £5.9bn in Oct 2011 to £8.6bn in Oct this year, as government spending rose and company tax receipts slowed.  | |
