Swiss Investor Confidence Improves In October: ZEW Survey
Investor confidence in Switzerland improved in October amid less pessimistic view of the economy's prospects in the coming six months, a survey by the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) showed Wednesday.
The ZEW-Credit Suisse Indicator of Economic Sentiment improved by 6 points to -28.9 in October. The indicator reflects the expectations of the surveyed financial market experts regarding the economic development in Switzerland on a six-month time horizon.
In October, fewer analysts expect the economic activity to deteriorate on a six- month time frame. However, not even one in ten experts anticipates an improvement of the economic situation during that period.
The experts' assessments of the current economic environment worsened once more in October. The respective indicator dropped by 9 points to -4.4. This is the first time since March that the indicator fell into negative territory.
