Eurozone Sep Inflation Revised Down
Eurozone inflation for September was revised down to 2.6 percent from the initial estimate of 2.7 percent, Eurostat said Tuesday. The inflation rate, thus remained steady compared to August's 2.6 percent.
The European Central Bank aims to retain inflation rates below, but close to 2 percent over the medium term.
Monthly inflation was 0.7 percent in September.
Core inflation that excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco remained unchanged at 1.5 percent in September. Economists had forecast the annual rate to rise to 1.6 percent.
