German ZEW Economic Sentiment Improves
An indicator of German economic sentiment improved more than expected in October, a survey by the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) showed Tuesday.
The ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment increased to -11.5 in October from -18.2 in September. This was forecast to rise to -14.9. This was the second increase of the indicator in a row.
The assessment of the current economic situation for Germany has weakened compared to the previous month. The respective indicator dropped to 10 from 12.6 in the previous month. Economists had forecast a moderate fall to 11.8.
