Australian Inflation Expectations Rise In October
Inflation expectations among Australian consumers increased slightly to 2.6 percent in October, the Melbourne Institute Survey of Consumer Inflationary Expectations showed Thursday.
Nonetheless, the median expected inflation rate remains within the central bank's target band of 2-3 percent.
"If the recent rise in inflationary expectations continues and translates into actual inflationary pressure, this will create a policy dilemma for the RBA," said Viet Nguyen, a Research Fellow at the Melbourne Institute.
