Dutch Industrial Production Declines For Third Month
Industrial production in the Netherlands decreased for the third consecutive month in August, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday.
Industrial production decreased a calendar-adjusted 0.6 percent year-on-year in August, after falling 0.3 percent in July and 2.2 percent in June.
Driving the latest contraction, output of basic metal and metal products fell 3.7 percent annually, while the food and beverages industry recorded a 1.3 percent decrease. Meanwhile, production in the transportation industry increased 3.8 percent compared to last year.
Sequentially, the average industrial output increased a seasonally and calendar-adjusted 1 percent during the July-August period, data showed.
