US Monster Employment Index Improves In September

A measure of online job recruitment activity in the U.S. improved in September compared to a year ago, a report from Monster Worldwide Inc. showed Friday.

The index grew 3 percent year-on-year to 153 in September. However, it fell 2 percent over the month.

The annual growth was mainly led by a 12 percent gain in retail sales, closely followed by construction. Meanwhile, public administration and Information continued to exhibit negative year-over-year growth rates.
