Yen Declines Against Majors

The Japanese yen weakened against other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday before the commencement of Bank of Japan's two-day monetary policy meeting today.

The yen fell to a 2-week low of 78.67 against the greenback, 9-day lows of 126.65 against the pound and 79.78 against the loonie.

The Japanese currency also slipped to near 2-week lows of 83.95 against the franc and 101.70 against the euro.

Against the aussie, the yen reversed direction and declined, hitting a 2-day low of 80.41 around 11:00 pm ET.
