Dutch Consumer Confidence Highest In A Year, Jobless Rate Steady

Consumer confidence in the Netherlands rose to the highest level in a year in September, while the unemployment rate was unchanged in August, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator rose to -29 in September from August's -32. The score was the highest since August 2011, when it was -21. Yet, the reading is far below its long-term average of -8. The indicator held steady last month after a strong rebound in July.
Separate data from the agency showed that the unemployment rate was 6.5 percent in August, unchanged from July. A year ago, the figure was 5.4 percent.
