Extending its recent rally, the pound touched a 2-day high of 1.6273 against its US counterpart around 2:45 am ET Wednesday.
The cable is presently worth 1.6270 and a move above Monday's high of 1.6276 could set its strongest mark in nearly 5-months.
On the upside, the pound-dollar pair is approaching the key resistance zone of 1.6300/10 and a move above this level could set an yearly high for the pair.
