Usd may Struggle Further in the Weeks Ahead
Quotes from Standard Chartered:
-The US maintains positive economic momentum, but growth is uninspiring. The euro area, UK, and Japan are mired in recession. Activity in Australia and New Zealand should remain generally well supported, despite a slowdown in China and other key economies in the region; Canada should outperform as the US stabilizes further.
-Against this backdrop, investors may shift further from the risks in the euro area in favour of US risks. The so-called 'fiscal cliff' is fast approaching and as a victim of an activist central bank, the USD may struggle further in the weeks ahead - particularly against commodity-linked and 'higher beta' currencies in both G10 and EM markets.
