Psychiatrist Who Worked With SAC Traders Dies Ari Kiev, a psychiatrist who worked with athletes and hedge fund traders, reportedly died Nov. 18, at age 75.
The cause was complications from cancer, according to news reports.
Kiev used visualization and relaxation techniques with Olympic athletes
to help them face down their fears and excel at their sports.
His work attracted SAC Capital Advisors founder Steven Cohen who hired him in the 1990s to coach his traders.
Kiev published several books on trading. His most recent book, "The
Mental Strategies of Top Traders," is due to be published by Wiley
later this month.
Behavior is a huge aspect in trading and is a big missing gap in modern social science academia... though arguably behavior finance/economics is on the roll....
