Portugal Slashes Its Tax Revenue Forecast for 2012 by 3 Billion Euros

Diario Economico said the Govt forecast 2012 revenues at 32.135 billion euros, down from 35.135 billion expected in March due to lower than expected VAT collection.
The Diario Economico said the Govt will present the revenue slippage, equivalent to about 1.8 pct of economic output, to EU and IMF inspectors due in Lisbon next week
Portugal's lenders have been modestly upbeat about 2012's deficit target
However said they would keep an open mind about the goal considering the difficult economic environment raising taxes and cutting spending.
