Gbp Unlikely to Offer Refuge from a Eurozone fall out


Quotes from HSBC Global Research:
-If the euro crisis moves towards the gloomy end of the scale, GBP's outperformance could go into reverse. Spotting such underperformance amid an intensifying crisis, one needs to watch CDS spreads and relative banking performance, as an early indication that we are getting unbridled contagion.
-In essence, if the situation improves in the Eurozone, EUR-GBP will rise. If the situation gets mildly worse, EUR-GBP will fall, but if the situation gets a lot worse don't think GBP offers refuge from a Eurozone fall-out.
