Euro Zone Economic Sentiment Weakens more Than Expected, down to 86.1 in Aug


Euro Zone economic sentiment indicator fell to 86.1 in Aug from 87.9 in July against estimates for a decline to 87.5.
The decline was mainly due to a sharp deterioration of sentiment in construction in the retail sector and services and among consumers.
The consumer expectations of inflation 12 months ahead surged to 26.1 in Aug from 21.6 in July.
Price growth expectations among manufacturers also increased to -0.4 from -1.9.
Consumer price growth has been stable at 2.4 pct y/y in May, June and July.
There is a strong consensus for another refinancing rate cut by 2012 end with Oct earmarked as most likely if the ECB does not do so in Sept
